There used to be (probably still is) a giant knob painted on the roof of a local secondary school which was visible on Google maps. But for some reason, I can't find which school it was anymore...
Nobody actually cares, you know? You seem to mention the school you go to in nearly every thread you post in. It's not like it makes you a better person or anything, just that your parents are rich. You're not impressing anyone.
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?ie...d=107910827854440931543.000434dbeeb866b3e4b43 my old school... wow it's a comprehensive. Look at me!
The problem with living on the Welsh border is this:- link There's currently no point in zooming in closer than an apparent altitude of 15km! It seems that, like TV News, Google believe the northern edge of Wales is at Ebbw Vale.
im not even sure if there is a topic going on anymore here so I thought I would post where I work: 57.741090, -120.004692
Hear hear! I actually found that MSN Maps was slightly better, it had a psuedo-3D view to it. Can't remember what it was called but it looked spiffy.
instead of these mapping sites why not just use google earth? its only about a 20mb download if i remember correctly.
Well Google earth dosent offer much more (properly useful stuff) than its net counterparts apart from offline maping. So its alot easier just to use it online and not have to download anyhing. (Although im not bashing Google Earth, its a great and fun program)

Here's a list of my schools (ones that I can remember and find): Neunburg school, Neunburg, Germany (I cannot find this on Google maps, as BFPO codes translate to massive areas) Chattenden School, Kent, UK Marlborough Lower School, Osnabruck, Germany Derby School, Osnabruck, Germany Weser School, Hameln, Germany Prince Rupert School, Rinteln, Germany Ripon College, Ripon, UK St. Birinus School, Didcot, UK Didcot Sixth Forms (Girls' school shown here), Didcot, UK I know I've been to more schools, but these are the major ones that I remember (I think 13 schools). I win!

I guess it depends where you live, but the MS http://local.live.com/ map of my area is lower resolution than Google's, plus a few years older. Google have upgraded resolution on a lot of the UK (eg, Eden Project area of Cornwall) but there are still plenty of blurry bits. NE Yorkshire round Scarborough is still poor. http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showflat...Words=yorkshire&topic=&Search=true#Post921822 is a detailed list.
My current work: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=...,4.320792&spn=0.002881,0.007296&t=k&z=17&om=1 My last school: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=...pn=0.002808,0.007296&t=k&z=17&iwloc=addr&om=1 Before: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=...,6.568655&spn=0.002808,0.007296&t=k&z=17&om=1 Even earlier: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=...pn=0.001403,0.003648&t=k&z=18&iwloc=addr&om=1 Lots earlier: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=...pn=0.002794,0.007296&t=k&z=17&iwloc=addr&om=1 What intrigues me though, is that nearly each school I've attended is located on the opposite side of the street, according to Google though. How do you guys mark the area blue?
