So on friday I got home from work to find that orange had sent me rubbish. Not junk mail but actual rubbish in a blister pack. Here is the offending item: And just to prove that they sent this through the post, here is the rear with the Royal Mail post mark and my address label: And what was so important that they felt it necessary to send me it in a blister pack? This was: Notification that they had join forces with M$ to offer me MSN on my mobile, although I already knew this and they could have just sent a bloody text! Why in this day and age of recycling and concern for the environment does Orange find it necessary to waste resources to send me extravagant junk mail. Does anyone else find this an obscene waste of resources? Especially as most Orange customers will have received one and they dont exactly have a small market share after their Orange Wednesdays stunt.
while i think its a waste of paper and plastic it is pretty inventive. bt do a lot of similar things too, like bright orange envelopes with "we wouldnt want you to miss this offer", tiny envelopes with a similar thing on them and then solid cardboard with adverts printed on too, something like "bored with your current supplier"..
I actually agree with iwog - it is a pretty big waste. Write to them and tell them you think so, otherwise they won't know. You might even get some extra credit as compensation.
I tend to ignore texts advertising network stuff, unless it's to do with my bill. You certainly won't forget that in a hurry though.
i'l say tape it back up and send it back to Orange, i dobeleave there is a return address on the back
Agreed. I don't see much to fuss about this. If you receive junk mail that you don't like, then your mail service provider or courier has failed at their obligation to provide a satisfactory service; if e-mail providers have spam blockers, why not your postal service? Got to pay extra for anti-junk postage coverage? So be it. But, right now, you're not receiving any less service than your neighbours under the same postage network.
hahahhha that is ****ing hilarious, orange are so retarded they spend money on this **** when they could spend it on improving there fantastic broadband service.
I think it was Lee Evans who suggested, "Sh*t in it and send it back with a little not saying, if you send me some of your sh*t i'll send you some of mine"
All those business reply envelopes that you get with credit card offers? fill them up with as much weight as you can and stick them in the mail. They have to pay the postage on it and it gives the mailman job secuity.
Heh, thats odd. Just watch out for the next item, could be something nasty... Like, decaying orange peels, or something....
I would have been so pleased to receive that, I rarely get mail and something that creative would have made my week. I am sure its reasonably recycled, and you can recycle it yourself. And all this extra free advertising they have just got. Very clever marketing people if you ask me.
