Hi there Following a previous post on an AMD build, I may decide to go the i5 route instead. Possibly the i5 661 if costs are right. Anyway, I can't seem to find many reviews on the mobo MSI P55-CD53 Intel P55 but thought it looked good and would like some opinions on it please? Attractors for me were, looks good, pci-e slot not too close to memory slots, cost. If anyone can recommend this or others in the same bracket, I would be very grateful. Note, this mobo has a handy function for overclocking, which I would rather use than manual as have zero experience and don't want to fry anthing! Thanks.
I would avoid the CD53 and 45, the very few MOSFETs cannot handle overclocking and we blew up a board while testing for Custom PC recently. Look at the Gigabyte UD2 instead
Have you guys had a chance to look at gigabytes p55a's yet? any recomendations? am looking at price point of 120 quid and had kinda settled on p55a ud3r. any help/advice would be much appreciated !
UD2 is great, UD4 is very good, UD5 is overpriced, P55As are lol-money. £120 should buy you a UD4. http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/motherboards/2009/09/22/gigabyte-ga-p55m-ud4-review/1
Thanks for the reply Bindi, although your omission of UD3/R is now worrying me (intentional or not) anyway i have a few weeks to decide, so a bit more reading up on the p55's seems to be my way for the moment. ps Silvershot apologies my friend for jumping on your thread, i hope you dont take it as a hijack!
I cant remember the result of UD3R so I didn't mention it. We're answering Silver's question too so it's OK
Thanks for the replies. No worries mycopia, it's all good! Bindi, are there any issues with the proximity for the memory slots and PCI-E slot for GPUs? as they look very close.
