Hi all I'm now getting to the point where the number of ads popping up whilst watching Youtube and in general that i am considering using an ad blocker, free ones of course . What do you guys use/recommend. Thanks in advance Shanx
I simply use a VPN and the basic ad blocker in Opera browser - I don't see Youtube ads. At. All. Pre-roll, mid role.. nothing! I might employ Privacy badger for my laptop, because there's some oddness when trying to use my VPN on the company network at lunchtime. Must remember totry that when I get back next week.
Pi-Hole on the whole network, adblock plus, privacy badger, ghostery and NoScript on my PC, don't use yootoob. Ads? What are these ads you speak of? Tbh the shock of interest browsing when roaming on 3/4/5G is VERY jarring.
If you're on Android, you can enjoy the same experience with VPN-based ad blockers like DNS66 and AdAway - and/or install Firefox and use uBlock Origin. If you're on iOS, it's harder - but assuming it supports connecting to a VPN, you could always set up an endpoint on your home network and VPN into that to get the same Pi-Hole benefits on a mobile connection.
Tbh I do very little general browsing whilst roaming, it tends to be dedicated apps and the odd direct to a specific website for an address when needed. It's not like I would ever go to some of the worst offending websites anyway.
uBlock Origin on Chrome and Chredge, DNS66 on Android after G mentioned it a few years back (and again just above). Though I did end up subscribing to YouTube Premium Family as both MrsYuu and I "consume" a fair amount on the telly.
