Well, after several years, it's time for me to bid goodbye to most people here. I'll still speak to some of you on MSN/See you guys online for gaming, but I'm afraid that Bit-tech has changed too much since I first started to use it, I gradually found myself reading less and less of the forum and moving further away from the reviews. The main reason is that I've changed, I no longer game on PCs, I can no longer afford to buy the best PC gear, or time overclocking it. Or time fiddling to get my games working better and better. But I could live with that, the community was good, I used to find frequently that the ads were useful, stuff which I could link to some friends that asked me questions, I'd direct them to articles and reviews because I knew they were good. Heck, I even linked people that asked questions to forum threads (especially the Linux stuff) But what I cannot live with, what I will NOT live with is a website which promotes Casino advertising to minors. I came on just now and spotted a casino advert, most of the new members on this forum are young, well under the legal gambling age. I'm not an angel, I have gambled in the past, but I've done it with full understanding of the consequences and I cannot support a company which promotes such activities. So, farewell, goodbye and all that, there's no point in responding to this thread, I won't read the responses. Anyone that wants me knows how to get hold of me It's been a good few years.
I have to say this came out of the blue, however I understand your point on the Casino ad. You will be missed as a long standing and contributory member of the community, life changes us all, our tastes and interests change along the way and it's understandable that people will fall away from the forum. I wish you all the best, and hope to see you back sometime.
Can I haz your account? It's too bad to lose a strong member but we all change over time... blah blah blah... long speech about change.... I'm sure everyone will miss you
I know you're not reading this...(lol it sounds like you're dead!)...but still good bye. This is a great community, one of the best on the web imho, so come back sometime!
he'll come around they all do always edit : arg i'm being eaten by guilt for not posting something better even though "you won't read it". GL HF somewhere else. You're a cool guy, too bad you're "leaving"
Good luck in whatever you do Doug - shame you're leaving, but I admire you for sticking to your principles. badders - would I be correct in guessing that you've seen 'Alexis Dubus's – A Bl**dy Brief History Of Swearing' from your tagline...? RwD
