Firstly, I apologise if this has been done recently enough to be relevant. If it has, nuke the thread. How did you arrive at your Bit-Tech forum name? Mine is mundane: during my first week at uni many years ago I neglected to pack anything other than casual clothes. What I had failed to do was read the hall of residence welcome paperwork telling me that there was a formal dinner on about the third night. Being a student I couldn't afford to buy a suit/dinner jacket so I went on the scrounge in my corridor. I ended up borrowing a shirt from a chap about a foot shorter and four stone lighter than me, which caused much amusement and broke the ice nicely. Shirty stuck after that, although nobody has called me that since I graduated. Any other interesting stories?
Well, some years ago, me and a bunch of friends would regularly play XBOX 360 together, usually Gears of War 2's Horde mode. Everyone had their own profiles on the XBOX, and one night, a couple of said friends went through and renamed everyone to be some kind of food. They couldn't think of anything for me (My name is basically spelt wrong, with a 'K' as opposed to a 'C'... it's such a PITA it's unreal), so I ended up with 'Krumpet'. And it stuck.
Well, I used to have the username of Timiguru, and would use that for many websites, until I joined Steam. Some of my friends had names altered to include a Z in it (Eg. Harry - Haz, Marie - Maz) so I thought to make my name (Blaise, if you're wondering) in the similar fashion. I typed in Blazza, but that wasn't available, but it offered me some alternatives : one of which was Blazza181. I've stuck with it ever since.
Mine doesn't mean anything. On every other forum my username is "Spesh". However, for some reason this forum would not allow that name (can't remember why). Wish I could change it tbh.
Fizzban is a play on the name Fizban, which is the name of a slightly dotty old wizard (and he is a lot more than that..but I won't spoil it for any who have not read the books) in a series of books. Dragonlance books to be specific.
It has been done before lol And my response was: NoizDaemon666 came about in quite a complicated fashion lol I play bass trombone in a brass band. We were on the band bus on the way to a contest when we all decided to change our bluetooth names to something with our chosen instrument in. The solo trombone player put his as 'solo trom rocks', so i tried to put mine as 'bass trom rocks more' but this was too long. So I thought bass trombone is usually the loudest player, so is quite noisy. And bass trombone is usually used in film music when menacing things are happening. First attempt was 'NoiseDemon' which looked rubbish. Then tried 'NoizDemon' but I wanted something that looked older, more ancient. So 'NoizDaemon' was born, soon after joined with '666' lol
I had to trawl through 37 pages of my own posts to find it Not sure whether I should be proud of my own determination or very sad that I had nothing better to do in that time lol
Snaffled from the AvP books (which I adore). Tichinde was basically a youngling on a blooding rite, who decided to lead the others after the senior Preds got killed by a speeder bike explosion. He was also a complete *****
No worries My post at the end of that older thread will tell you everything you need to know about mine
