Is that a good motherboard then for Video playback and DVD's?? Thinking about building something like it...Nice little case where did you get that from? Can't wait to see it progress....Looking mate..
The mobo seems to be designed to be used as a media PC. I haven't got it up and running yet to test anything out, so I can't give firsthand experience but it should have no problem with anythng you throw at it as a media PC. The box is technically a picture frame. I got it from a place called Michael's here in Texas, but you should be able to find them at any arts and crafts stores that sell frames. Vazz
umm looks full of potential, good so far a little question: why do you install the HD in a mobile device?
I was waiting for someone to ask that I am planning on using the aluminum cover as a billboard. The HD will not be using the USB on the HD case. It will be modded and will be connected using IDE. Basically the cover makes the HD look prettier without polishing the HD itself and gives me some clean advertising space. Vazz
Wewt, chugging along on this project nicely. Today I chopped out a hole for the Aerogate II to reside and intalled it. Dry fit: Installed: (bent the aluminum at a 90 degree angle on one side and screwed it into the box itself) Cleaning up the exterior and permanently attatching with JB Weld: (focus is a little goofy, sorry) Comments, suggestions, questions always appreciated. Thanks for all the kind words I did a bit more work this evening. I installed the 3 fan air intake in the same fasion as the aerogate II. I will try to make both blend in with the side on the case with filler putty so they looke pro. Pics: I hope these pics give you a better idea of how it all will work. Mod on! Vazz
I like this very, very much, and I think I'm going to do something like this very soon. Where did you pick up that power supply? I've found one website and they're like $50, is that a reasonable price for them? They also have a 200w one which looks a little more promising if I was going to have a video card and such. -Rob
its a travla 90w DC-DC convertor (i havent recieved it yet and we might be going with a different version) best place in the US I have found was dc2dc.com but if you go to the travla website they have a where to buy section. $50 seems to be a great price and from what I understand, Travla is a good line of products. I would suggest figuring out how much each item draws in your plan and totaling it all up. (HD, mobo, fans, kb, mouse, few extra usb thingies, etc) Mine came out to roughly 70W, but going with the 90W version gives me some room to play. Hope that helps Vazz EDIT: Sva4g3&*: Power Supply calculator
I bought the frame new, but yes it is a shadow box picture frame meant for 3d things. (figurines, collectables, war medals, that kinda stuff)
that is one of the sexiest motherboards i have ever seen, i would really love to see this in person when its completed.
