That's cause the vocals are soundgarden. Ill still listen to Tommy playing til i die. I have to admit their latest album doesnt really cut it and ive heard their original has gotten old, unlike my Soundgarden Asides disk and all my RATM disks which have a seemingly infinate playability.

Chris Cornells singing is definitely a bit of and acquired taste, and it varies a lot (sometimes its atrocious, sometimes its good), and I don't think necessarily suited to the style of song Audioslave do, which is pure rage. If you listen to 'Doesn't Remind Me' off Out of Exile (a song I'd say errs more towards soundgarden than RATM) then the singing seems to work a little better.

I was of the opinion that Chris Cornell can't sing at all, but listening to Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog I changed my mind (TotD I'd say is where his singing is best, and the songs are more suited to his style than much of Soundgarden and almost all Audioslave).

  4. Rusty Cage by soundgarden is OK, a little repetetive tho

Exactly. All that early90s-Seattle-angsty-crooning kind-of-thing can just bite me. It's horrible. I never liked Soundgarden, I'll never like Audioslave.

    :D

Both at the top of the hatred pile -

I will always love you - Whitney Houston
Everything I do... - Bryan Adams

Maybe I have an embedded problem with Kevin Costner...
New thread - which famous people do you hate the most?????

You'd think, but I've heard Jesus of Surburbia on the radio more than once where it was completely uncensored (f-word 3 times, s-word once). Then again, "***" is censored in American Idiot. Not quite the same meaning across the pond :p

The "***" would be censored for it's political incorrectness in this day and age (I hate that) - blatant obsenities are more acceptable than racial/sexuality/ableness slurs.

Fair point, but f*** is censored in American Idiot too. They probably just decided, "oh, what the hell, the swearing starts like seven minutes into the song, we don't censor past four." And you would think the political incorrectness of the entire songs of American Idiot and Holiday would have them both banned, but not so. Racism I see, but then no rap could ever be aired (well moreso of sexism, but "bad isms" in general)

    /me hates political correctness
