Graphics 6800 dead/dying?

    I've got a 256MB Leadtek 6800nu that just started getting major screen corruptions today.

    I'll try and get a pic but its similar to what happened with older monitors if you tried to stick the res too high.

    It happens in the BIOS aswell and the card isnt OC'ed.

    Checked the temperatures? It might be overheating due to a clogged fan or loss of heatsink contact.

    sounds like your video card memory is on its way out.

    I'd also look over the card to see if anything has fallen off (small capacitors etc.), it happened to my old TNT2 and I had similar screen corruptions.

    the temp are normal (measuring with a temp diode on back of card)

    will have a look to see if anything has fallen off

    well looks likes its dieing. anyone got suggestions on cutting the core out and turning it into a keyring

    If you are certain it's dead you could always sell it on ebay as faulty :thumb:

    i like the idea of a 6800 keychain better. but yea ebay is a 2nd alternative :D
