Hmm... something might be in my future, depending how Oblivion holds up on my 6800GT. I wouldn't mind a 7900 card or something... I don't care too much if it'll fit on my current waterblock, and a google image search is telling me that it probably will.

Wow, Depending on how well these cards preform I might have to pick up a 7900 Gt. It's good see nVidia have sorted out their prices, ~£560 for the 7800GTC 512 was rediculous ! Also does any one know the Clocks/Pipes .etc for the 7900's?

Edit: I had a google and supposedly the Gt has 24pipelines with a clock of 450/1.4Ghz, which isn't that great, but maybe a good competitor towards the x1800XT but the Xt 256 only costs ~£240 too.

As for the GTX its also supposedly has 24 pipelines with a clock of 650/1.7Ghz which would be a very strong compititor towards the 1900 XT/X but would the XT/X's 48Pipelines take the lead?

Also this information could be wrong to dont hold me to it.

Savastore has the XFX 7900 listed, you have to wonder what the "NV+" bit is for the more expensive GTX ;)

Apparently the 90nm cores clock like nobodies business as well. The GTs are going to have a smaller cooler than the GTX's but there's no harm in trying to get another 200mhz out of a GT core.

I hope so too, maybe it would be a little closer towards being in my "Summer 2007 PC Upgrade" budget.

I think by then, my PC could do with a new Mobo, GPU, CPU and possibly a case to top it off.

Will the cards support all the stuff needed for Vista? (eg the DRM stuff // DX10)

So whats the point in upgrading now, with vista only a few months away?

By the way, what happens after the next generation the 8XXX cos they cant release them as 9800 etc as ATi took them.. will there be *another* name set used?

Speaking of pre-orders, compusa has the PNY 7900GT listed now as coming soon. Just thought I'd bring along for some specs are listed anyhow. Although the main thing missing is the pixel pipelines which I among many others are curious to know of. :D We'll know soon though. :naughty:
