Right thinking it's time for a upgrade.

    Is crossfire really worth it?

Thinking about getting either one x1900xt maybe x not sure yet.

    or two x1800xtx in crossfire.

You can get a x1900xtx for about £380 and you can get 2 x1800xtx for about £450. See I'm thinking if I get x1900xt or xtx I could always add another x1900xtx later. not sure what to do. any opions?

i would say get a x1900xt (not realy worth paying more for the xt imo) the x1900xt will play everything :D then later on when the prices go down a bit see if you can get a x1900 master.

Just go for the one tbh. Unless you've got some insane res setup.
One will do 99% of games on max. Happy. ;)

Unless you are gaming at at least 1600x1200 at a minimum SLI/Crossfire are a waste of time, if you are gaming at higher res 16x12/19x12 being the common res these days some may play higher then Dual GPU gives you great frame rates at those resolutions, to be honest the 1900xtx or the 7900gtx are no slouches at those resolutions anyway.

I would say if you have the sort of money, get crossfire x1900xt's and you sould just about be able to play oblivion on virtually max settings with about 30-40 fps.

However if you havent got that sort of budget, I would reccomend just the one but you shouldnt expect to run most of the latest games on max res with max settings, this is where crossfire comes in this will enable you to have that sort of privilage.

At the end of the day its up to you, I hope this info/advice help in some way. ;)
