looks nice. The mouse looks really uncomfortable to use though. and the keyboard still seems to have plastic keys

monitor seems like a good idea. doubt it will take off though.

It reminds me of Ikea... i hate Ikea although the monitor does look alright. It'd be nice to just figure out how they did it so i can do it myself with better wood

The PCB ina normal monitor is more harmful then the the material the casing is made out of. :sigh:

this is odd, and very flamable, and in a way interesting.

Well, you'd need your monitor at combustably hot temperatures to worry about anything, in which case a plastic casing would have melted. Wood also has the nice side effect of not emitting toxic fumes when burned, unlike plastic.

Actually, bamboo flooring is considered quite durable. Here is a link, you can also google it...

Bamboo is generally quite a durable material, I do like the look of the monitor. Although i'm not sure why chopping down trees to make the monitor surround is much more environmentally friendly than plastic. Also, as bloodcar said, it's not just the plasic surround that isn't good for the environment.

That being said the monitor looks well cool.

When you cut down bamboo, the bamboo re-growes from the same stalk, where as a tree needs to be replanted.

Are you suggesting we start using bamboo PCBs then? :D Come to think of it, an oak motherboard would be quite nice...

    Happy Panda lol :D

I'm sure I've seen a mod on here that's similar, i.e the monitor or monitor surround made out of wood..

doesnt bamboo suck up quite alot of nutrients and such out of the ground

theres no such thing as a free lunch in this world

and also, as said by other people, plastic isnt the most enviromentally harmful bit in your moniter :duh:

    Edit
Oh yeh and planting alot of bamboo to make stuff, well if its so hard to get rid of (ie you have to get rid of the roots) surely if it spread (which it most likely would) then you would have a bamboo epidemic

Im sure the panda's would love that but .... :wallbash:
