It matters not, even if piratebay is ever back (which I am sure it will be), others will take its place like always

But what's wrong with "hacking" a DVD? I rip all my movies (at least those I watch more than once) to Xvid so I can watch them on my computer. I'm not spreading them online and it's well within my rights to do so (save the breaking CSS). Piracy has been around since there's been stuff to pirate, and it's not going away. Screwing over everyone to accomplish nothing is senseless, but it's what they want.

i sure wish i had a list of all companies "protected" by RIAA. the MPAA and the other scum, so i would give it to everyone so they would not buy their crap, it a way that RIAA and the other scum would run around like headless chickens saying "OMG OMG OMG we are not selling our stuff, teh pirats are haxoring lets srew everyone again so haxorz buy our warez for any sum of cash, HAHAHAHA WE ARE SO SMART".
    sorry about the rant

This could be just another pr stunt from the bay, remember the deal with "websheriff"? They pretended the site was closed by the anti pirate bureau of sweden and wrote that they were sorry for the losses they had caused, when they actually were just updating they`re website.

Niether does TPB. You expect them to check out the actual contents of every single torrent? Get real!

It's not a very apt analogy I don't think though, the google one works better. Afterall both are search engines.

When they price stuff sensibly, i buy it, when they are greedy, I don't:

    A CD - £6-£7 max
    A DVD - £12 max
    A Game - £18 max

They could wipe out piracy in a day if they weren't so greedy.

A quick report about the TPB affair from Sweden.

According to "Rapport", one of the largest Swedish news programs who, by law is forced to stay neutral:

A delegation from the Swedish justice department and the Swedish police met with american government officials in April, and then the issue was brought up after a request from the MPAA (Hollywood version of RIAA). Then the justice department asked police and prosecutors to act on this, but got the reply that the legality of it was questionable. The justice department's chief secretary then contacted the head of the DA's office as well as the chief of national police and ordered them to act.

These turn of events would imply that we've had a case with the government intereferring with the police's work, which is at best very questionable, and possibly illegal. Apart from all the innocent people getting shut down in the process, we might be watching a very bad call from government officials, and especially so in a country such as Sweden where "justice" is regarded so high normally.

Get it here: RIAA member list from their own site

    And for the MPAA: Here

To quote someone here on BT, "Screw the RIAA, Screw the MPAA and Screw, um, someone else"

Piratebay is back online. Apparently, they moved to the Netherlands as some sites states. Funny that it is now called "the police bay".

    IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!

Apparently the admins are going to set up servers in 4 different countries, so it'll make it a lot harder to take them all down. :thumb:

Haha, I was sure they'd do it, but I didn't think it'd be this decisive and this fast.

I think the xxAA's just got pwned.
