I've melted the top of my Intellimouse optical during an attempt to bend some acrillic sheet over it. :/

Does anyone out there have a spare top they could sell me, or will I have to go out and buy another, and that'd cost £30.

    Boy, I loved that mouse.

    Insides for sale. :)

On the flip side, if anyone wants the working insides, buttons and base, then let me know. :)

next time, make a clay mold first, that way, you can melt away all you want :)

the sad sad part is that i just made a clay mould of my intelimouse. it sitting not 6 feet away from me. top part worked great, but the bottom didn't. i was attempting to make a resin casting of the shell to get a clear mouse. too may sharp corners inside, and plaster of paris didn't like it.

    :(

I was trying to do the cryo mod with a little lego 'me' inside, but all I did was end up killing my favorite mouse. I'm going to think twice before trying it again then. But making a mold sounds like a good idea....

just make sure to use plenty o vasoline on your mouse before you pour the plaster, and have some clay handy for a retaining wall. don't worry, the vasoline washes right off, and you get a nice clean mouse!

Sorry to hear that you lost your mouse. Did you do the warming of the plastic while it was sitting on top of that top cover or how did it happen? Maybe you should post a story about this in Metku's forum so others know about this possibility.

That's it exactly. I masked off the body of the top cos I though it might stick tot he melted acrilic sheet, but then got carried away melting....

I'm too embarassed to post on the metku side.

NEWS , as it's the optical non-explorer version, the parts are still availiable... Any takers. :) it;'s got a black bottom rather grey, which is all I've ever seen anywhere else.

The buttons are OK too, jut not the top piece.

    Mouse name change.

While looking for a replacement, I see it's called the Wheel mouse optical. Sorry for any confusion.
