I think you're missing the most important aspect of Freshers week, which really has very little to do with booze and a lot to do with girls being "away from home" for the first time...Oh momma....
Ahhh, freshers week... Even though I've not been a student for years, I still like to play a game called 'FAF' every year here in Aberdeen when the students return. Well, I did when I was single anyway... I found the only thing about these young impressionable girls being away from home for the first time is that, while they're willing and able, they're not very knowledgable. And I get bored of playing 'teacher'!
Utter lies, but I suppose it kinda depends on you and the people you hang out with that week. One of my flatmates managed to spend upwards of £650 in freshers' week last year, I only managed £300 or so. This year I might not make it up for the beginning but I'll be there for the edited highlights, can't wait to see everyone again!
I have finalised my plan, I think I will attend both Sheffield Main, freshers week and Sheffield Hallam's.
Its the way it should be done Freshers week is craziest if you are in one of the main halls, they have HUGE bar crawls. Ranmoor has 800 students and they pretty much all go out on the ranmoor bar crawls.
I dont know man, i've been goin out to manchester ever since I was 16 and freshers week sucks!!!!! The queues are HUGE at the bar, every club is packed (I had to go 3 months without goin to 5th ave :S) and you cant walk around the campus without getting harrased by idiots handing out flyers for stupid clubs and societies. Think i'll just stay in for a few months as I usually do
Freshers week, still think I'm recovering from last years! Always found the main pub crawls a bit crap though as the pubs were just packed, it was much more fun to just wander off and find a quieter pub and get very lost in the process of going home. It's a good way of finding good pubs and finding your way around the area though.
Cavendish hiya tibby, i don't usually use this site but was browsing net and read you are staying in Cavendish, i am too!!! what room? see you there!! you're right about the start dates too. what course you doing?
