Hehe if you don't look hard enough on that last picture it looks like electrical tape you're using on that sata power connector.

    New monster feet...

    Update time...at last :hehe:

So I binned the old feet design, but now I'm back with the new one. On with the pics...

Essentially the design is the same, but in the new design both feet are made from one piece, should be much more sturdy this way (don't worry, these babies will hold the case up, I've actually stood on these and that's about 105kg of weight on them :D)

    Can you say mirror...

Here are the acrylic feet attached with countersunk M4 hexheads. Again the lower piece has CF-vinyl coating on it

The feet are attached to the case with two M3 bolts which go in the original attachment points of the wheels...no extra holes needed...

I'd say that they look pretty good :hehe:

I had some spare time at work today and I planned something that's probably going to mess my head when I have to make it, but it should be something that I'll bet you'll like...well we'll see now won't we :D

Hopefully I have something to update you on tomorrow...keep tuned.

The new feet look fantastic. No worry about those puppies stressing the bottom of the case. I can't wait for your next installment.

I don't comment on project logs all that often because everything is usually said anyway, but I still follow most of the logs on here, especially yours. I have to say that those are some amazingly crafted feet, your craftmanship so far has been top notch. If things carry on like this, which I'm sure they will, this is going to be a mod to match any other.

Nice colour scheme be the way.

    Standing ovation...

    Back with the beaver hat!

Finished the second set of feet today and the case stands now on it's own :thumb:

    Some pics of the action...

This kind of pads were used under the feet to reduce some of the vibration and also this thing is going to be sitting on a glass table, so to protect that also.

After attaching all the feet things were looking like this. I'll tell you that it was a strangely proud feeling to see the monster stand on it's own for the first time after removing the wheels :D

    From a lower angle...

    ...and finally some closeups

Hopefully I'll be back with another update soon, take care and also let me know what you think!

    Unbelievably nice!
I'm thinking of making some similar to my own project ArcticIce

Those feet make the bottom more open, and are more friendly to the floor than mine atm. I have the rad in bottom of the case, so this is important.

    Great work!

Damn, how have I missed your ArcticIce project, that bad boy is looking really good :hehe:

If you are going to do something similar work with alu, hopefully you'll have better tools than I do, drillpress and the beltsander were a savior on this one, but cutting those pieces with a jigsaw wasn't fun, that's 20mm thick alu.

I'll be sure to follow your project as it goes on, mod on man!

Thanks, the feet I have was made by a guy that is very good at machining,
so I'll probably figure out a design that i like, i was thinking of having
5mm UV blue plexi at the bottom, like you, but with UV LEDS built in the foot.
UV blue plexi glows as hell in the edges when lit, so I think that would be nice.
Keep checking in on my project, watercooling and _much_ other stuff are arriving soon :)

Thanks all, feet were made by hand mostly. Drawn on the maskingtape, cut out with a jigsaw (special alu blade + drilling oil) and drilled with a drillpress. There were 3 holes which let me attach both feet together for sanding so that they'd be as similar as possible.

After they were in the shape I wanted they were sanded with 100 and 240 grit dry and 240, 400, 600, 1000, 1500 and 2000 grit wet. After that they were polished with farecla 3 compound and a moist sponge-like "buffing wheel" attached to the drillpress. Finally they were handpolished with mothers mag and alu polishing compound (finally found some from finland, thanks again modsquad :thumb:).

That's basically it, I'm happy that you like them.
