I was just on msn, when I realised that one of my Ukranian friend's screen name was "64gb of music!" I couldn't believe it! so I asked him to prove it with a screen shot, which he prompty did.

so, I thought I'd put the question to all you music lovers out there.. How big is your music collection? (In Gb.. :p)

    I'll start then shall I? :p

    5.31Gb

had 135GB until i threw out all the redundant stuff that my brother has too.. now i only have 45GB.. Mostly livesets off ID&T, Q-Dance and Cromonova that are big. (70-215+ minutes), but Psychedelic also tends to be rather big due to length 7-15 minutes per track.. Plus i never encode anything lower than 160kbps

23,48GB + some other bits and bobs + unripped cds.

Mostly 320kbps AAC - weapon of my choice :)
for lossless I just keep actual CD albums...

Most of mine is comprised of around 500 CDs ripped from my collection, though I've been slack recently and have another 100 or so to rip. I don't rip everything, mostly stuff that I'm likely to listen to when I'm on the PC (like heavier rock or rap I'll only ever listen to in the car, whereas in the house I listen to classical, jazz and classic rock)

Before my storage drive died I had 6.5GB in varying formats, mostly M4A or MP3. Now I have a measly 1.2GB that I've put on this hard drive.

i think a more interesting subject would be how long would you music last if it was all in one long playlist. Since some people rip music at lossless and others don't bother.

btw, mines only 7.48GB, thats 123 hours 36 mins 13 seconds
