You can use a flathead screwdriver to remove the position-lock springs from the flush-mount concealed hinges if you want a more even actuation without "slapping".
I've been using them in projects for a while and the springs can be quite annoying.

I am however left wondering why you didn't leave much space for cabling. Do you have any plans for cabling? For the thinner ones you may want to considering routing them underneat the motherboard to prevent them getting pulled by tubing when the outer shell hinges.

Thanks for the tip. Because of the thickness of the panels and the strength of the actuators the hinges are solid, although i know what you mean about slap.

I have a plan for cabling and tubing :)

I reckon its a power connector, looks a lot like the ones someone used on a project made from a WWII vintage infantry radio. This is a really great project by the way, nothing quite like it around.

    Thanks for that :)

Yup thats right, its a power connector. Its going to help me bring some psu connectors to the outside. So it looks like I will be spending some time making some cables, should be fun i think :cooldude:

Interesting design, will be a great looking case if you can pull it all off. Good luck, I eagerly await the finish.

For the record: We never broke up. We just took a 14 year vacation...
Something like this going on here. Seems to be some serious timegaps in this thread.

Wow I'm glad this project didn't die off like I thought it did. Since hardware has changed so much since you started on this case in 2004 ( :jawdrop: ) what are you thinking about sticking in this machine?

Ed, I worship the ground you walk on. That took a lot of patience, and I'm sure I could learn a few things from you! Wanna get together and make some crap sometime soon? :D

Dude, that sounds so awesome when it opens, it kind of makes me wish I had them in my case. :D

Dude, stop spamming. This is the second thread that you've spammed with pointless update requests.

What proves this as spamming is that this was updated TWO [2] days ago, yet you still spammed the thread with an update request.

What sort of switch will you be using to trigger the actuators? I'm assuming you don't want it to open every time you power your system on. :hehe:
