Is the Corsair HX620W enough for a single 8800GTX?

It's new PC time and I'm not sure about this :(

Is it enough for 2? I would think so. I've seen one load up to 1.1kw before shutting down.

    Thanks for tip

Grinch, thanks for the tip. It it works for one, its natural to wonder if it works for two! :worried:

No he is right. He is talking about the PSU, not the GTX.

My Corsair 520 is currently pushing 8800 GTS SLI at this very moment. Solid.

An 8800GTX system only uses around 480W under load. That is with an overclocked quad core on air. So you should be able to go SLI, let alone single. But, that is not offical, and is only according to two review sites.

It's also about amps. That Corsair PSU has 3 18A 12v rails, but they can act like one big 50A 12v rail if needed. Nvidia won't certify them for 8800 series SLI, but it does work.

From their webby: "Triple 12V Rails provide independent reliable power to the CPU, video card and other components with a combined rating of 50A (40A on 520W) maximum! Advanced circuitry design that automatically enables power sharing between the triple +12V rails in an event of overload on any single +12V rail."

    The webby: http://corsair.com/corsair/HX_power_supply.html

The HX620 is a great unit and should be more than enough for 8800 GTX SLI
