Spotted this guy running around my bike this afternoon, quickly grabbed my camera and managed to get this shot.

Excellent shot, even if the subject is a bit gross :) What the heck is in the background?

Funny thing is, I am totally scared of spiders, but I like jumping spiders. This little feller was about 5mm long.

Very well done. It's always hard to catch animals and insects before they rin (or jump) away :)

I'm hoping to see it again today, maybe I can get a sharper photo with a bit more DOF.

Did you know spiders have no hearts or lungs, so if you put them in an airtight container they don't die? Which means there must be spiders in space.

Until you get a picture of THAT, I won't be happy.

    Good pic though.

How bizarre! I'm exactly like that too. Really badly arachnophobic, but love jumping/zebra spiders. Just as well really as I live in the attic and there are loads on the roof! Maybe it's because they move like little robots and aren't all creepy like normal spids?

Nice pic, he's got a lovely furry 'tache :D

I think it's the way they move, their legs are quite short so they look more like a small insect rather than a spider.

He looks very silver, is he/she/it like that in real life?

Nice, composition is really good. Dunno if it'd improve with a little more DOF or not, and the flash isn't actually all that bad to say it's the o/b one. Not much colour in it, did you see what it'd look like in B&W?
