Thanks! The brake cost me $33 from Northern Tool. It would have been worth it at twice the price...

Thank you very much. I loved the case and it's potential from the moment I saw it. In fact, it was because of a comment to that fact, that I made over on Hardforums, that led to this whole project. Johnny (from NZXT) saw the comment, and made me an offer I couldn't refuse... :thumb:

No problem man. Good luck with your project! :dremel:

I'm on a roll tonight! I've got lots to do yet, including some more fabrication, but I thought I'd get a few assembly shots posted.

Since the side panels will be illuminated, I had to drop CCFL's in the lower sides of the case. These things fit like a glove...

Next up, I attached the radiator mounts in place.

    Mounting the reservoir...

    The LCD mounted...

Front panel back on, and gauges in place...

    Bulgin switches mounted...

    The work continues...

I like the metal-flake paint. Is that automotive grade or from a spray can?

This continues to look fantastic!! =D I notice that you had to take a piece out of the reservoir because of the case top. How much clearance do you have there now?

@Nix: If it's the HDD tray you are referring to, then it's 2mm alu. =)

    Multi-quote Cheesecake!

Thanks guys! Of course I'm biased, but I'm really loving the way this is pulling together. It all started with a vision in my head. You never really know for sure if it's going to live up to your expectations. So far, this case has exceeded them...

Yep, good ol' Rust-Oleum... I think I'm only an average spray painter, but quality spray paint is a must. Don't go cheap if you want it to look nice. Believe me, you will notice a difference! Also, all parts were baked immediately after being painted. 200 degrees for 30 minutes, then 170 for an hour. As long as you've done decent prep work, and your parts are clean and dust free, the finish ends up rock hard and almost automotive quality.

All interior parts are 1 and 2mm aluminum.

Oh, it's coming. Be patient my friend... :D

Yeah, I did need to take a little material off of the reservoir. I dremeled it out, then flame polished the edge. I suppose there is about 2mm clearance between the reservoir and the top of the case.

    Yep, 2mm it is!

No worries though, you had my vote a few weeks ago. Very nice realisation of your plans

    holy hell! :jawdrop:

They look beautiful, the end ones remind me of CD players with the clear glass/plastic lids. Just about the perfect size for it too.

Also funny you saying "before I get to work tonight", I am just about to grab a cup of hot something and get to bed!!

I'm on to mounting the grills, and just had to show you guys what it looked like. I think I should have done these last... 'cause I keep getting lost in the red anodized dreamy sweetness...

    These stickers gotta go...

    A little sleeving...
