No games on the PS3 that I like the look of, and I miss Zelda games and Mario Kart is fun as heck online.

Oh, and my original one was bought for me as a gift, and I didn't tell my mum I'd sold it...

    Pah... lightweight :p

I see you've opted for the 4GB RAM upgrade. You're aware Dell don't offer 64bit versions of Vista, so your laptop won't be able to see/use the full 4GB

But even if they did offer 64bit versions... I wouldn't have opted for the upgrade anyway. They charge £70.00 extra to upgrade from 2x 1GB to 2x 2GB!
    That's a rip-off, when you consider I bought 4GB (2x 2GB) Patriot Signature PC2-5300 for <£65, 4GB (2x 2GB) OCZ PC2-5400 for £57.59 (sons laptop), and two 2GB sticks of A-Data (son 2's laptop) for just £18.69 each (+ only 99p delivery)
    So I'm damned sure I wasn't going to/wouldn't give 'em £70.00 of my hard-earned, to go from 2GB - 4GB :eyebrow:

Anyways... I'm sure you'll enjoy your new toy :cooldude: I sure as hell am

You can however, install Vista x64 using the key. I've done it on my Vostro 1500 (e8300, 4GB, 8600GT, 320GB) and the only devices that weren't natively supported from the install disc was the Creative webcam built into the lid and the side-scrolling bits on the Synaptecs trackpad. Some of the '32-bit only' software provided on the Dell Support site actually include the 64-bit drivers.

They had a 40% off deal, and the model came with 4GB standard and you couldn't get any less. Although the 32-bit OS will only show a 3.25GB memory amount, that's still more then 2GB. I also thought you could enable PAE to allow a 32-bit OS to use 4GB even though it won't show it as being there? Either way, I picked the whole thing up for under $1300 shipped(with a 3 year warranty) after the 40% off and my mom's discount for being a teacher making a personal purchase.

Unlike you, I need this to sit on my lap from time to time, and it is going to be the only computer I'm taking to college unless I decide to turn my desktop into a mATX setup.

    Nice one  :thumb:

I've never used mine anywhere other than on my lap yet
It doesn't sit directly on/in my lap mind - but rather on top of a [hard] laptop case... which also helps bring the screen almost level with my eyes ;)

    Does a decently-sized machinist's fee count?

Also business cards, shipping labels, a fragile/do not bend stamp, styrofoam packing, bubble wrap bags, mini parts bags, shipping boxes, barbs, resin, developer, and snack mix.
