Over the last few days I received a few boxes of new gear.Today had the time to shoot and upload the pictures to share with you..
BUT, first I have to thank both

They are both helping to make this "thing" possible..

Alphacool 10mm springs (these will work with the 11mm tygon I plan to use)..
speaking of which

another Alphacool product, 11mm compression locking nuts..



they are over-sized compared with the stock (innovatek pictured) 10mm locking nut..
With these I can use 7/16OD tygon "big-small-bore"....

Lastly (from Performance PC)

a 2-line LCD display

it's a green on black, but with the correct acrylic in front of it.. It becomes whatever color you like. This unit will get "hacked" into the two 3.5" bays of this machine..

I see real potential in this unit.. It just needs a few mods..The first the correct compression fittings



we will get rid of those ugly-screws later.. The unit is made from Acetal and Lexan Polycarbonate..

EnzoTech copper heatsinks.. There will be no motherboard cover for this machine, my plan is to utilize as many of these pretty heatsinks as possible..

Dude great compression fittings. Great new gear. Put it to good use.

 

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question but, how do you fill the reservoir? I assume you'd connect a hose to the middle and run a fill port to it?

 

For that particular res you need a 'T' line with a fillport attached to it to fill it up. Some other bay reservoirs have a built in fillport to mak it easier. They don't look as sexy as that one does though lol.

 

Or, you tip the case on its back and take the front acrylic off... I had a 3.5" res like that one, and they are horrific to bleed without using some form of T-Line or the like.

 

A valid question.. As a primary (one and only) reservoir it can (would) be precarious to fill..Bitspower's larger (5.25) model has a G1/4 plug top side.. IMHO this one should as well. This unit we be a secondary reservoir so it will not be an issue, it will also not be mounted in standard-fashion..
@Mankz the viperJohn flow meter is pretty-sweet.. The problem is it's price tag.. They cost like $80US... Mine, however was
the cool thing about that unit is it's third inlet/outlet.. Mounted low in the case, it becomes a great starting-point for a drain-leg for the H20 loop..
BTW, the one I have has a 5mm red LED..
It's a hectic holiday weekend, not sure (and will not promise) if I can manage any real work on the box.. BUt..

What is GREAT about these Lian Li boxes is there modularity...
**** up the top-plate... remove four screws and purchase a replacement ($30US)..

-- I did not really kill the last top-plate, but just went too-aggressive in my design.. I don't want or need a window top-side, I did my best to remove the 80mm hole, which was a mistake..
What is best (IMHO) is not to mes this that hole at all (well).. Some copper underneath, like so:





this is the "less is more" credo ... which I like..
next, the reservoir.. I like the mount from rev1.. NO-Change
BUT, what I did discover.. by pure dumb luck was that

an acrylic Aqua-Tube will give you a very-cool -- copper-look--

Love the RAM cooler. New top panel looks much more clean and simple.

 

Still loving everything about this. That top panel looks great too.

 

Looks better then your old window. Have you already cut out the hole for your resevoir? It might look better if you put it where that fanhole is, for a super-clean look

EDIT:nvm, just looked through your pics, the fanhole is to big to cover it up with your res mount, too bad...

 

I did cut the hole for the Aqua-Computer reservoir..

but that is about it.. The res has to be mounted up-front because of the PC Power and Cooling power supply that will make it's way into the machine. It's a big unit, measuring over 9" long..
Next I need to order some copper sheet from Mcmaster-Carr.. For the fan hole and to replace the (chrome) aqua-tube mounting plate.. I will place the order tonight.. That will kill the budget for this month.. The stuff is expensive..
I have to say thanks (once again) to the "good folks" at Performance PC's for there continued support of my work, without there help I would not even have started this project..

Yes both the listed (linked) retailers in my sig are helping with this project..
BTW, just ordered the copper sheet.. 12"x12" .08" thick $80US... That is "tall-paper".. The price of copper is HIGH... I will do my best to make use of every inch of that sheet..
