it's only saying win7 won't support it natively. vista doesn't support it natively either. it will work with drivers (and vista drivers currently work under win7) i'm loving the color scheme on this case, btw. white is highly underrated as a chassis color.
Alright, It wasnt very clear on that issue. Thanks, I actually painted it white on a whim since I had a can or two laying around and I think it looks great. Thank you. I try to go for simplicity sometimes. I think it allows the viewer to focus more on the mod as a whole rather than the individual parts. New Pics, Look Up! It seems that I can fit a 80mm fan in the front. I was thinking This one since it is Orange, and Antec. There is a Blackfire4 for a dollar cheaper but I cant choose the sleeve color.
Parts installed give a good look. Only that cable clutter... Is it possible to shorten the psu cables?
I would like to, but the time and hassle to take it apart isnt worth it right now. Thanks! Haha, I was looking for something to hold my incense with and I walked past my old parts bin and that was sitting right on top. I originally doubted the colors but since I wouldnt see it to often I wasnt worried about it. I just wanted anything else besides the lame grey of the steel. I was thinking about it. I mentioned that fan in my first post but I am not to worried about it.(I'm not sure if that is red or orange) Maybe if I revisit the mod to shorten the cables I will have to mod the fan in there since the PSU won't start without a fan attached. The new back Cable routing, and the mesh pulled away from the case on that side. Grr Close clearance with the Hdd too. Woo more cables, that hdd is from Thacrudd's sale thread. I moved the cable mess off to the side. It's slightly better looking through there. There are two short video's showing the mobo running out of the case. http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/gg258/codyfurr/Emergen-C/
Trouble strikes! Le Gasp! While rearranging components and trying to figure out how to have less cables in my case, my power supply decided to help me! My Sata connector broke! There is the piece that broke off of it. When I put the piece that broke off back onto the connector, only two pins are pushed up, as seen in this picture enhanced by Blurrrr-o-vision. But guess what I found! I was previously using a 1molex to 1sata adapter, but this 1 molex to 2sata should do the trick I guess I will have to cut off the Sata connector.
Was the one that broke mine not that its a big deal. shame. count you mod the psu and make it clean? you definitely would benefit form it in that amount of space. I'd be more then happy to help, what amount i can.
What? I am going to cut off the cables inside the psu whenever i get around to taking it apart. Thanks, it has proven to be 'Fun" so far. Well installing Windows has proven to be fun. At first the Setup would BSOD within the first few minutes, and after reading some reviews on the ram I figured I should try a different stick to install window. So I took apart the case to get the motherboard out since I have to remove the cpu coler to remove one of the sticks of ram. Then I installed Windows with different ram and that work. When I get into no combination of drivers/bios updates could get the ethernet driver to install properly. I had put the two stick back into the board when I got windows setup and I figured I could try installing Windows with the "Bad Sticks" so far everything has gone fine and I hope the ethernet drivers install as well. Gosh, ethernet drivers dint install.... I might try Vista and it's driver. Nope, same thing with vista. I think I may have to RMA this board. (I will not be using that IDE drive, I am just installing windows to mess around until the mod is complete and I put the 250gb sata drive in it.)
The 5mm leds came today. Time to put the board back in and finish everything. Cut off sata connector Hot glue mesh panel back in Put PSU back together Replace blue leds with orange Put hardware back in Pictures! Updates later.
Its done! Thats how it sat for a while when I got it back. Thats the front in the dark. I couldnt get the hdd led to show, but its there and orange. Here is the bad side. And the auto setting on my camera sucks when you dont use flash. It just raises the Iso reallly high. Top view. Cable mess may be straightened up later. There is the good side. Sides off, Flash Sides off, No Flash. See how grainy it is? I will have to everything manually now. Oh well. Sides on. Q&A -Thermal performance was good too. It didnt get above 40c in a few hours of Prime 95 and Folding with the gpu(that got to 55c) -The paint I used was: Rustoleum-Rust Preventative High Gloss White-"Maximum Auto Durability". I had a can of this sitting already and it is what I started with. I like this brand/can because the spray nozzle has a wide fan spray that gets a smoother finish. If you use this you would want to at least sand and primer first. If you don't it will chip/scrape off. And give it proper time to cure. Also look into Engine Enamel. I'ts a paint that is made to endure high temperature and rough conditions. Overall this was a pretty fun easy mod. Looks decent and I learned a few things. Sand-Primer-Paint. Don't skip the first two steps. Measure Twice, Cut Once. Make sure it fits before you hot glue it into place. Do it right the first time and you wont have to do it again. Etc, Etc Also, spoilers for the next mod. Remember how I said that I hated small cases and things? Well I hate this even more, but it is an idea I have had for a while.... Bonus if you can tell me what it is going in. (And dont tell them Tranc3)
Really liked your mod. So now you can start with your actual mod. Can't gues what it will be though, really really small at least.
