It only took them 9 days? Astounding...

BTW, I for one have yet to play GoW. Did try it at a mate's house, though.

What alarms me more than this is that simply changing the system clock circumvented the problem. Doesn't that imply astonishingly naive design of the authentication system? I have shareware that's smarter than that.

Once again one is struck with the idea that they're not really in the slightest bit concerned about actual security, just by giving the slavering attack lawyers something to work with.

GTA 4 style crap... Why the hell I pay for a game? I have trouble... If I download a pirate version, I'll be fine... Thanks for showing that those anti-piracy measures aren't working...

Gears of war isn't that bad at all.starting is pretty poor.but the game has some great gaming moments.middle chapters are well polished and fun to play.Epic has done some work to raise the game above average 3rd person shooter.
People are still playing PC version.I also do.

it's not a horrible port, it's optimised for quad core.

but Rockstar Social club is unnecessary.

What about the missing textures, horrible performance in fps?

never experienced any missing texture myself or my friend, probably a driver issue for older cards.

if you put medium texture, it will perform very well, never have any problem in FPS, even with 50 strippers with M1 fighting 6 star police around me.

Had the game (legit) for a while, but it never played even before this fiasco. When news of this came out I tried the game again but this time I immediately installed a hack to remove LIVE from it (never was to interested in Multi Player) (Hamachi fix) and now it functions fine without LIVE as far as I know. If I had an Xbox360 I would've played it on that, but I'll have to do with the PC version. Framerate is pretty good despite my HD3650, just a bit of stutter when looking in new directions or entering new places, but from the gameplay I've seen so far (first few minutes) I'm guessing that there won't be much running while gunning.

The unreal tournament 3 beta demo had the exact same bug, which I experienced. Strangely though, it was fixed with a replacement .exe file from gamershell.

I got bored of Gears halfway through thhe first night-time levels. I'll admit I didn't pay for it (borrowed it), but still it hardly grabbed my attention. All that brown gave me brain death.

That's about the same time I got bored of it too, Bauul. The insta-death as soon as you stepped into the shadows really grated after a while.

    Yep...personally found it boring too.

Still doesn't warrent a company not quickly fixing an (easy) error making it officially impossible to play for the people who bought it.
