I hope that my CPU fans will work as intake cause there's only about 8-10 mm between them and top window. Here you can see the top window cut with lots of space for the airflow ;)

Very nice work, and impressive cardboard model! +rep

I agree with the exhaust idea, but luckily, those are easy to flip over if you don't like it as exhaust, so you can test it our for your own noise level and cooling situation and see if it's better as an intake.

yes, you're right, it's very easy to flip the front fans from intake to exhaust and back. so now I'm waiting for the side panels to arrive and going to make some temperature tests

we'll see which variant is going to be more effective

    for the frame - 15mm wide/1mm thick alu L-profile
for the panels - 1.6mm thick alu sheet
for the windows - 3mm thick transparent acrylic

If I hadn't moved to a SATA drive, I would definatley have to steal that IDE cable idea! Good to know for future reference though. It's little details like that which make mods like these so much more interesting. Great job so far :D

Nice work going on here :D
+ That stunning IDE cable, it's those little touches that really make the difference in my opinion.
+ A very professional looking finish on the chassis itself, quality workmanship.
+ Having all the obvioulsy visible fans as Scythe ones that compliment each other visually and the 4850 having a very similar looking fan on it, well chosen. :thumb:

    - You're clearly way better at this than i am! :wallbash: :D

Keep up this standard of work and this will be a show piece when finished.

Very nice work!! I love the dual color sleeving on the ATX24 pin!

Sorry to hear about your RAM modules. :( I've heard Corsair sometimes sponsor people with Dominator RAM sticks, minus the heatsink. Maybe you could talk to them?

    Panels are here!

So its' one of the days that will lead to the end of the mod. I've got my panels back from cutting. As I know, they were CNC'd, so the result is going to be good :)

After the first mock up attempt I've finished with this -
    [IMG]

Note that the spacing between panels is due to the rivets - I'm going to countersink side panels in the places they interfere with the rivets. Then I placed the acrylic part on the top panel just to be sure everything fits -
    [IMG]

And for the last, a shot from the side, to find out what is visible trough the side panel's windows :)

Now I have to work with the front panel, make the IO plate with power and reset buttons and power/hdd leds. I have one idea, but still don't know if I can do it... And of course, POWDERCOATING:rock:. Want to go black/silver color scheme with white lighting.

It's almost impossible to have sponsors living here, in Ukraine :( Our regional dealers aren't concerned with modding, especially in sponsoring someone they haven't ever seen or heard about :)

Thats a nice clean edge to those panels :) God bless CNC!

With going for white lighting inside would it be possible to replace the blue LED's in the fan controller dials with white?
(I have no idea how easy/hard this would be just thought of it since the screen of the fan controller is also illuminated white)

As i said just a thought :) My knowledge isn't great but i can visualise things...........which gives me problems more often than not :hehe:

EDIT: Forget what I said. Theres plenty of blue in the desin already so it would match perfectly anyway. Think before you type Throbbs...:duh:
