Windows Kazaa 2 Participation Level

Does the participation level make any difference to either the speed of downloads or the preference ?

Don't see much difference whether my participation level is 1000 or 1 ... so was wondering what the purpose of it was

 

If there's something that a LOT of people want to download and few slots available, it will chuck off someone with a lower participation level in favour of someone with higher. If you're downloading stuff that there's more supply than demand, you'll see no difference.

There were ways to increase your level by cheating but Kazaa 2.0.2 stops all the known methods.

I hope you use KazaaLite btw

 

I use KazaaLite 2.x with Diet Kaza

I think the program KLite cheater or something does increase the participation levels.

it increases mine in the blink of an eye. just befor u can say Warez!!

 

i was using kazaalite, but it wasnt renaming the files once they finished, was leaving them as .dat files, which was fine aslong as i didnt close the program, so i could get the exact file size, find the file with that size in my folder, and manually rename it, but that was a pain in the ass, so i just got regular kaz again

 

Been using kazaalite ever since it came out.... absolutely no problems for me...

mebbe you should try uninstalling, removing all registry entries and installing again

I set my uploads to 4 slots and when I don't need my upstream I allow people to take my stuff. My participation level is at Supreme Being (1000) 90% of the time...

 

I take it you don't care about spyware then. Just be warned that Kazaa installs the Brilliant Digital viewer and ALTnet which will allow Brilliant to use your CPU power to serve adverts to you and other people without your knowledge. Enjoy

my participation seems to drop all the time.....currently around 40....even tho im sharin my files:S

You download files, your level drops.

 

I dunno but I dont like Kazaa lite. Direct Connect seems much better. But thats just my opinion which i know means nothing hehehe

 

I like DC too ... but not that much ... the problem is finding the files you want and a user who has free slots and is fast enough = too much trouble if you just want to download a coupla songs.

 

Yeah and you can't download off of several users at once with DC.

Anyway if your files aren't renaming themselves it's probably because you don't have enough disk space. I think that happened to me a few times when I was running low on space. I think you may need more than twice the file size worth of space.

 

I have KazaaLite
I don't let anyone else have my files. I only open to DL then I close it (get it off taskbar too)

 

That's exactly what I do, exept I use Diet Kaza too... to help me get more search results and to download from more sources at the same time and block spywayre/adware and stuff like that

 

Hey d00d, share, keep the network alive Uploading doesnt kill your download speed....
I use the KL cheater to get 1000 level, but i share as well.
