Played IL2 & it was great.

This kind of thing is always going to be better than the modern jet sims, if onlyfor the reason that you can legitimately go "Neeeowwww, daka-daka-daka-daka"

I've always loved IL2, still playing today with friends.

I agree with spiny, there's so much more atmosphere in IL2 than in modern jet "sims" most of the modern flight games are not even simulations anymore if I think of games like HAWX and such.

After that comment I'm gonna have to install IL2 again and give it a go when I get home. Bought it in a Steam offer but never really gave it a chance

I want a new jet sim!!!

But these guys make quality, I will play WW2 just to support them and dust off my Thrustmaster Cougar set up.

Flight sims are always relevant, especially now with such great graphics and DX10.
It would be nice to have more games with 6 degrees of freedom, like Shattered Horizon.

I like it! It's been a long time since we've had a good combat type flight sim and never one with really outstanding graphics. The last combat flight sim from Microsoft did a good (not great) job on the aircraft detail but the surrounding countryside was pretty bad. I think anyone who gets it right will sell a lot of games. Hopefully, this is the one.

Hope they manage to have a mode with minimum amount of keyboard buttons. Fly n spray is good for me!

IMO you never need an excuse to say 'dakka - dakka -dakka'

It is a recognised term in air combat training, on the (rare) occasions when we got into guns kill positions in training you'd say (in your calmest drawl over the radio) 'guns - guns -gunsss'. However in cockpit we will be going 'Yeah! dakka - dakka -dakka!'

Hello Rabbit Leader, thought you might come in from the sun.

Don't just glance, look! Search for the b*stards! And never fly in a straight line or you're a dead duck!

    Sir.

    Right, let's try it again

    :)

Hah, I like 'daka-daka' but have always preferred 'pew-pew.'
