I just wanted to tell you about something we are doing at MaximumPC.

One of our folders (Michael_McCord,_M.D.) who we refer to as Doc, has a beautiful daughter named Elena who is dealing with cancer these days.

I will provide a link below where you can learn more about her.

But first let me tell you more about Doc.

He is 5th in production in the world, just behind AtlasFolder, which many know alot about.

He does all his folding at his home and on his own dime

He is a Beta tester at Stanford

Always a gentleman and impossible to get excited or upset in the folding world.

Staypuff, who has been known to get excited and upset on occasion suggested we Fold for Elena.

As you will read in the link below, that project is well under way and the goal is to make her the top producing folder in the world, or as close as we can get.

We can handle that on our own and are not here to ask you to fold for Elena.

But if those that already have a logon on our forum for the chimp race, or others that would like to create one now, would come over and post in the thread for Elena we would be most appreciative.

    Hope for your quick recovery
    You go girl
    Praying for you

Or however you feel comfortable expressing yourself would be fantastic.

If you could include your team name and where you're located, we can show her it truly is the whole folding world who cares.

Thanks in advance for reading the thread and considering the possibility.

As you probably knew already the gentleman in the first picture with Elena is her Dad and our Doc.

The West Point Graduate in several of the pictures is her brother Brian.

now its not about the competative side or the competition, reality beckons those who wish to help this young lady and her family out, even if it is in a small way such as folding.
having 4 girls myself i cant even begin to think how it would affect my family if something happened like this.
    cheers spunky

Thank you dark_avenger for your post in our thread for Elena.

I'm sure it will mean a lot to Elena and her Dad (a friend of folding)

I know it did to me and my small part in organizing our teams effort.

spunkymonkey, I just want to make sure it's understood that we are not looking for folding point support, just posts to show Elena that the entire folding world cares.

I restate this because it was buried in one sentence in a long post and could easily be missed.

I was going to thank AlchemyFire for his post in Elena's thread in a private message but found I don't have that ability here.

So thanks AlchemyFire right out in the open

This will be the last thank you, so I don't dominate the top of your forum as I have been

This is by far the most caring and moving gesture I've heard of since joining the folding project. I already hold an account at MPC so I will head over to the thread and post a message later. I wish Doc and everyone folding for Elena the very best with your continued efforts towards the project and my prayers and thoughts are with Elena for a speedy and full recovery.

A friend of mine was recently declared in remission from bowel cancer after a long fight with her illness and I can only hope that Elena will soon her the same wonderful news and be on her way to recovery.
