Need to know what the Intel equivalent to this mobo and processor is.
    Mobo: Foxconn K8M890-8237A
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
My grandad is having some problems with pinnacle and was told they havent tested it on an Athlon 64 before, they advised him to get an Intel system, any of you got any ideas on a simpler solution ?
    Thanks

surely any x86 code should work on any x86 processor? isn't that the point of standard code sets?

If it doesn't say that it won't work with AMD CPUs in the system requirements, I'd send it back for a refund.

Well, one of the low-end Core2 series, or one of the new Pentiums, in any compatible motherboard, I'd guess (since you don't tell us WHICH processor you're using).

Did Pinnacle say WHY there's problems on AMD-based systems? I've never heard of things like that with programs before.

My wife uses Pinnacle Studio for video stuff... she has a AMD Phenom 550BE.. no problems here.

Sounds to me like Pinnacle are talking crap. There's no reason why it wouldn't work on a AMD processor. They're just making you jump through hoops because they actually have no idea why it doesn't work for you.
