I'm running a hx1000 for my gaming rig 920 d0 and 2 5870's watercooled, overkill but it's a good psu in my opinion. Also running a hx750 in my other rig i5 750 and 5750 over kill again lol
QFT Luckily I did get the HX850. I paid a premium but the thing came with a big box of 24 cables. I am using like 4. Good job corsair for ruining people's potentially sexy builds with your TX series.
I'm running an Enermax Revolution 850 Watt 85+, great psu and the psu fan stays running for 60 seconds after shutdown to make sure any/all heat built up in the psu is dissipated
650 Seasonic X series PSU. I'm always going to go for a fast single card vs. dual GPUs, so I think this should be more than enough juice.
I'm rocking a 700watt modular. Massively overpowered at the moment, but once I've finished my PC it should be a little more sensible
Corsair HX620w for a Phenom 965 and a single 4870. No problems other than the -12v in HWMonitor gives strange readings when Cool'n'Quiet kicks in.
Main system is a Hyper Type R 580W. I know now that they have a bad rep but it's sat running without a mutter through 3 builds so far and seems to handle a Q6600 and HD5850 quite happily. Second system is the Aopen branded 400W one that came with the case it's in.
A decent PSU makes a lot of difference to the sound of a PC. We use basic cheapy 450w PSUs for our main builds and they are noisy as hell, my HX620 is nice and quiet
Went with 650watt Seasonic X series. Main reasons were 1) quiet - the fan does not even spin @ 20% load. 2) quiet - whisper quiet @ 50% load; 3) curious about modular cables - though I don't think I would necessarily go with modular next time round; 4) just wanted hassle free PSU for long time; 5) apparently the 'best' one can get atm. It was £40 more than the other PSU I was looking at which wasn't going to break the bank for me, but for those that it will, seasonic makes other mid tier models, antec's new Truepower series is meant to be v good. Finally, Corsair's units are always a safe bet (some made by Seasonic) although it's now older technology - and things have moved on.
I have a Seasonic S12 600W PSU. I'm hoping this will run my new rig (when it all arrives) i5 750 Asus P5P77D-E LX 8800GTX 4GB corsair (CMX4GX3M2A1600C8)
