Just landed my VIP ticket the post in this morning, £30 donation to get in seems fair... I'll be kicking around Yellow camp with a bottle of JD and the last 3 years worth of wristbands on

I'm taking about £100-150, but not really sure whether that's too much, too little or what. Think I'll be in Orange in a 7-man tent. Between 6 though, so not as lusicrous as Mankz...

I'll be in a black and white checked trilby, very possibly waving a rainbow flag. XD

I'll have to find you and shout "DOHERTY YOU *expletive*" sorry but trilby hat's aren't cool unless you're in a pimpin' suit.

    Oh my gawd.

That was a ******* AMAZING weekend. :thumb:

I think the mud and the bog down where I was camping in Purple A1 made it even more funn

I had an epic weekend too camping in P8 H, got back last night cos I live 15 mins away from the festival.

The mud seemed to dry up nicely on Saturday and Sunday, so didn't need to wear wellies all the time.

Was anyone else freezing for Blink-182 though? I was in shorts and a jacket and was shivering :(

Favourite bands though were Weezer, QOTSA, Frank Turner and Kids in Glass Houses.

    Hope you all had fun!

Yeah, last night was cooooold. I was almost tempted to buy a coat or something.

The security man at Orange Gate was awesome. He asked if I was on my own and then escorted me out to make sure I was safe and didn't get mugged :) He said he has a daughter about my age and he takes it personally if there's any trouble on his watch. Certainly makes a change from the Glaswegians at the main gate...

What did you guys think of the police offers in the campsite for this year?

I thought it was a good idea, but they were a little to harsh and direct with us when came over, claiming they could smell weed, when there was no smell in the air, and then pretty much ransacking out tents..

I thought the Police presence was a good thing, although they didn't come into our camp at all.

Although I didn't stay on Sunday night, I felt that there wasn't much trouble at all in our area.

Also, was it just me or was the sound for some bands really bad?

On the first day, I couldn't hear Lostprophets even though I was right at the front.

And the crowd this year was better I thought than previous years, lots of people knowing every song unlike Kings of Leon but there was a lot of crowd surging :(

Yeah, sound on the first day was pants.. It picked up for QOTSA, but as you say, Billy Talent and Lostprophets were awful.

Awesome festival, we had one brief 'run in' with the police (although you could hardly call it that). On sunday night it was so cold we lit a tiny fire and instantly a bunch of police turned up to tell us to put it out.

To be fair they were nice and pleasant unlike some of the security staff.

Highlights for me include: Weezer, Blink, Kassidy, Gogol Bordello, lostprophets (I was pretty close to a speaker so sound was fine for me), Cypress Hill and Pendulum.

Anyone else see the spectacular fail that was G'n'R? My initial plan was to see them for an hour then go see LCD soundsystem at half 10 for an hour and then the last 30 minutes of Marina and the Diamonds (FR stage was running 30 minutes behind all day)

    G'n'R fu**ed my plan up.
