I was looking at this video something to watch out for http://www.wreg.com/videobeta/?watchId=8ba6f8fc-90a2-4711-90ea-1884ec348310
+1 It is kinda worrying when you think about how close people are at a busy tube station and on the train itself, it would be pretty easy.
Theoretically, if you mount the sensor up your sleeve or have it disguised as a wristwatch, you can scan back pockets in a crowd without moving unnaturally or carrying anything suspicious. To be honest, RFID shouldn’t be used to carry or transmit data that the owner didn't want made public. I'd refuse to own a RFID debit card. Should the bank or bank's card vendor not issue one sans this ability, move to another bank.
Just stick whatever you think has one of these RFID chips in it IN A MICROWAVE for about 10 seconds, the RFID chip will be destroyed
Yep, Think Geek sells them. http://www.thinkgeek.com/brain/whereisit.cgi?t=rfid&x=0&y=0 Basically just a wallet with a Faraday cage built into the construction. But yeah, it's scary how easy it is to pull off.
I'm really quite surprised by this. You'd have thought there was some kind of authentication going on, and the person with the reader would need to provide their identity to the bank to actually get money from the customer. The Visa payWave thing on Barclaycard says it's limited to £15 as well.
