So many cartoons I'd totally forgotten about. Single biggest nostalgia bomb I've ever experienced.

OT: I sceptic about the new series, I'm yet to see a remake that ever lived up to its original.

Most definitely HOOOOOOOO! The first eight episodes are brilliant in my opinion! What appeals to me is the old school animation and the story telling. Rather than every episode being its own story (as per the original series) the episodes are one part of a thirteen episode chapter.

Like all good things, the show will probably get cancelled due to a poor reception from youngsters who want the moon on a stick. For us old farts in our 30's, its an actual improvement on the original and a return to what 1980's cartoons were all about. Praise to the creators!

Thank you for the thread revival since i've just sat and read through it all singing along to theme tunes ..................again

The new show is.....different, to say the least. It's very good in comparison to every recent cartoon but i don't think it's a good as the original. It just doesn't have the feel of Thundercats somehow. It is still good though and a vast improvement over everything else currently out there.

I've also been increasing the collection of old stuff on DVD thanks to this lol Currently stading at a few (but i only started fairly recently)
    Trap Door (complete)
    Willo The Wisp (complete)
    Dungeons and Dragons
    M.A.S.K.
    Mr.Men

Yeah not that many but it is growing. It also includes (due to a very insistent better half) the complete first series of Follyfoot. I wonder how many remember that one lol.

I actually happen to like thew new episodes a lot more than the old ones. Mostly because snarf is a lot less irritating, that and it's nice to have a larger plot than single episode events.

The animation is top notch, and they have done an excellent job of making a compelling universe.

I'm glad you feel the same way as me about the new episodes!

The new show has many improvements, it's more mature and respects the fans by making many references to the original series.

Hopefully there will be a new theme introduction, but to be honest it's going to be a tall order to better the original. I respect the creators of the new show for not attempting it! You have to admit, the 11 seconds of new intro music they have produced is nothing short of epic!

Same,I've been building up my collection of old school 'toons too:
    Trap Door
    Dungeons & Dragons (complete boxset)
    Transformers (S1-4 + Movie)
    Pole Position
    Visionaries
    Bagpuss
    Inhumanoids
    Robotix
Fraggle Rock (kept Taylor quiet when he was little)
Ghostbusters (Vol1: Witches Stew) (wish they'd release the rest of these on DVD)
Brave star (only a couple of episodes though :()
Galaxy Rangers (again only a couple of episodes)

I'm sure there's a few more I've picked up but I can't remember right now

SUDDENLY REVIVAL. Also, hooray for this thread!

Being something of a young Thundercats fan (I'm 21, inherited a whole bunch of the VHSs from my older brother) I can still somewhat get away with watching the TV show/wearing my T-Shirt in public/owning a whole bunch of merch etc. etc. Take that marginally older people! :D.

Not sure what to make of the new series. I enjoyed it immensely, but in the back of my mind I kept thinking 'but it's not as good as the original...'. Not sure if that's me being nostalgic (I'll have to dig out the old tapes and find out) but still, far better than the alternative offerings of cartoons.

    Bring on new episodes!

    It's great!

I was so happy they've not destroyed it like they did when they remade Transformers with cheap computer graphics!

I don't like it. Original is always the best! I spent my childhood watching thundercats (I'm 31 now) and I don't want to ruin those memories by watching a remake. I tried watching the first episode but just couldn't get into it

I only found it after googling Entourage to see if the actors had done anything else... found out Cheetara is voiced by Emmanuelle Chriqui (MeOwwwww!)

This thread takes me back. Nostalgia tripping. Cities of Gold was one of my all time favorites.

And for those not in the know, Voltron was made up of cars and planes and suchlike, not just lions. 15 vehicles!
