Don't carts create massive lag on SMP?

 

That's what I've heard. I wonder, would setting the view-distance to short have any effect?

 

prior to beta breaking our plugins, we had an entire dedicated rail system on the creative server and it didnt cause any problems.

 

People are welcome to come visit me, house is empty. need advice on decorating.
There is a tunnel to get to me shown in map below. the tunnel ends at a ladder that comes up into the house.

On other notes, I am building a second smaller minecart station just next to the tree house by the spawn. 2 tracks, one leading to the first station, the other reserved for another long-distance station.

I also found an 'theatre' hidden at bedrock level. The staircase under the tree house leads to a mine which has several openings at the very top of this chamber. Logon fell down from an opening, then was killed by slimes. I then built a gravel escalator to rescue his stuff, but died when a huge slime spawned next to me Then he successfully rescued his stuff and most of mine, while I was finding a safe way to get into it. But by that time logon had escaped.

Whose is this theatre? Why does it have to be so tempting to get into

Yep, i'm an optimist like that sometimes.

 

Fully rebuilt my area on the creative server. confusis towers are no more!

 

The survival server is updated!

Most important fixes for CraftBukkit are:
- Changed block cache to soft references (should help a lot with memory usage)
- Redstone fixes
- Code cleanup, fixed doors, chunk entity fetching
- Fix for the chunk ghosting bug
And lots of other minor things

I hope this improves the playability for some of you.

Also i removed the AutoMessage plugin (the [PSA]s) due to incompatibility. I don't know if this plugin will return because of some comments i got.

Well, i'm having a bit of lag on the survival server lately. I can't use my boosters, and the nether portal combined with the new and improved chunk loading system murdered me once, making me lose a fresh set of diamond tools : (

 

hmm is the server being upgraded ?

 

I've not been able to play on SMP for days now due to lag...anyone else getting the same?

You can't be talking about this place, because Logon helped build it and he would know what it was, but I can't think of anything else it might be?
