Anyone got any suggestions for a good HDD cloning programme. It needs to work with Win 7 as well as XP. It also needs to be free , tried acronis and ghost free trials but cloning is disabled and I just can't afford to shell out £40 at the moment even though I know it's a pc of software I could really do with. I know win 7 has its own imaging software but I would prefer the ease of cloning.
CloneZilla? Sounds like Mozilla (so it's cool), runs outside of Windows (so it works anywhere) and has Clone in the name (so it does what it says on the virtual box).
2nd clonezilla. Been using it at work alot since free fit's our budget way better than ones that cost. Works great.
while i admit their interface can be pretty daunting. Just take your time read each option and use the option that best fits to what your trying to do.
+1 to CloneZilla Used it several times, and like lcdguy said once you've read it a couple of times it seems to slot into place and appear very simple, you'll end asking yourself why you found it complicated (least i did).
Thanks for the suggestions, I googled and came accross the EASEUS one in the end and it worked a treat, had a BSOD to start with but I put that down to the unlocking of the 2 cores on my lads 550be and once I'd disabled that it worked great. Unlocking seems stable enough for everyday use though as he hasn't had any issues there.
