So the RAM can not fit in any of the 2 slots nearest the CPU?

sorry im not quite getting it ?

The RAM does not fit in the slots ?

    or

the cooler blocks the first 2 slots and therefore you cant run dual channel ?

can we get a pic ?

ive looked at the mobo and cooler i would have thought it fits just fine

Should fit fine into slot 2 and slot 4. The heatsink will prevent it from fitting into slots 1 and 3.

Lol, same thing happened to me yesterday. Sqme setup, a darkrock and vengeance.

I just took the heat spreaders off the RAM. Fits perfectly now. But it does void your warranty, so only do it if your not bothered about the warranty.

For those of you confused. The CPU cooler is so freaking huge, it cover half of the motherboard, preventing any ram with any sort of heat spreader from being inserted. Its rediculous.

    Exactly this!

sorry I was a bit frustrated, so the post came out a bit messy...

Well I followed CPC recommendations and picked up this cooler and corsair vengeance.
I guess they are great performers those two, but can't really get along ;)

I'll take some pictures tomorrow morning.

I guess I have to return the RAM, but to bad I ordered from Germany and I am in Greece....

Thats why I went for the Tranquillo over the Dark Rock in the end. Careless recommendation from CPC

What if I cut off a small part of the heatsing?
Of course warranty will be void, but will it be a dissaster?

I wouldn't get into cutting bits off the heatsink, that's asking for trouble, and it doesn't look great. I do the same thing as Zetax did and take off the fancy heat spreader, since it's not really all that useful anyway

Its ******** component manufacturers don't think about this type of thing.

Most motherboards have similar lay outs, most good ram has heat spreaders. You would think the cooler manufacturer would have tested their cooler with some popular products in the market place.

I have the Bequiet advanced and a P8P67. The vengeance ram goes in but there is less than 1mm clearance - not ideal.

If you're going to cut anything, cut the stupid heatspreader off the RAM.

Sorry, I ment the heatspreader of the RAM as Tangster said, not the CPU Cooler heatsink.

I guees i can 'trim' it or, remove it as Zetax did.
