I'm planning on building a new PC in the winter for Battlefield 3. I'll be getting the i5 2500k and overclocking it, and was thinking of getting a GTX 580.

Which one of these power supplies (or any other recommendations for around £60-£70) would you choose out of the Corsair TX 650W or the Antec TP?

    Cheers.

I've always used Corsair & XFX (both manufactured by Seasonic = quality), never had issues and always been very impressed so I'd recommend the TX on that basis.

I have the Antec in my rig and it seems to be nicely quiet and solid (though I've heard of people having issues with odd noises from them). I haven't looked at the TX range myself, but I believe people have mentioned that it's a couple of their other ranges where they really shine.

The Antec TP new 650 also has mostly Seasonic parts/design. Very happy with mine.

Happy with mine too!..... plus Antec is partially modular whilst TX650 isn't

All the non-modular plugs on the Antec are pretty much essential anyway.

I thought 650W was pretty spot on to be honest for that spec machine?

I have the Antec and it is a very nice and capable PSU. And while it was designed by Antec it was made by Seasonic.

Only if he wanted to put a second one in. 650W will be plenty for one.

That HX-650 would serve you very very well for any SLI rig bar SLI'ed GTX570s and up.

An HX-750 should do the trick.
