So does one exist? I have tried LOTRO but got a bit bored, i was wanting something like wow, or more specifially- - Crafting - Auction House Access to buy and sell (limited slots is fine but at least access) - Quests that arent too much of a grind - Levels or equipment (rare, epc etc.) Preferably Sci-Fi but dont mind wow sorta style either. Just i do wow sometimes, but i dont always have a gametime card, so just to fill in the time i suppose. Does anyone play any decent F2P's? (p.s already have Lol and Wot).
Have a look on Steam. Things like Champions Online/City of Heroes, or Forsaken World, Global Agenda, etc. Or you could just install Team Fortress 2 for some nice pick up and play gaming in between your game cards.
HAve been trying global agenda, however that seems to be turning into a right grinder.... oh yea i have Tf2 i paid for it many moons ago but sometimes its nice to just like slowly do some quests etc. Yea i forgot about the other few on steam.
pretty much any MMO (hell, inlcuding WoW technically) is F2P now. If you like crafting, you could try fallen earth, as it's almost entirely about crafting, and has an AH e.t.c (If it's not quite transferred over to F2P yet, it has a 30 day free trial) and is sort of sci-fi, It's post apocalyptic. If you like superheros at all, City of heroes is certainly worth a try, don't bother with champions unless you like paying for every tiny detail.
You could try Vindictus. It's region blocked to NA until the Euro server is released but there are ways around it.
Runes of magic, although i dont play anymore, was awesome. I highly reccomend it. The only thing you need to buy is a mount but there are other ways to buy one than paying with RL cash.
Allods online is their newer and slicker F2P. Runes of Magic was utter trash. Sound was abysmal, half the things didn't even have sounds, etc etc - the list is extensive. It wasn't even worth trying if they'd paid ME a subscription free. Heard better about Allods.
Eve is f2p once you purchase account, even then u need to generate some amount of isk* which would be hard for a new player. But eve is the main MMO i play already *eves ingame currency.
While it is old as hell, might look at Anarchy Online. Crafting - check Auction house - check Grinds - no worse than any other mmo Huge equipment variety - check Sci Fi - check I played it for years before I got burned out on it. Newb area is dreadful, so give it a chance after you leave there.
Regarding WoW. Check your battle.net account from time to time, I discovered I had a random 7 day trial last week. Pretty cool. I hadn't subscribed for a few months right enough.
While I seriously love AO, it is VERY different from WoW. Also, the player Shops (which aren't really AH's ) are only available to paid players.
