    Hasn't Quake already being re-made on a more recent engine? I'm sure I saw it on moddb

    Source is still closed an proprietary. This is makes games based on Doom 3 source code totally free, you have to pay to use The Source engine.

    There is a Doom mod for Doom3 already available. You can play through Doom with Doom 3 graphics.
