Hey, basically i have itunes 10.4 installed on my computer and it seems to work fine untill i plug my iphone 3g in. Itunes doesn't recognize the device yet my computer does as it comes up with different programs i can open it in. I have uninstalled itunes and reinstalled it and nothing has changed, as you can imagine its very annnoying as i cant sync new songs ect. Any help would be great. Thanks
if the phone has a lock code to unlock it, punch in the code, leave it on the home screen then plug it in. might solve it
Have you removed any registry settings to do with Itunes ? There could be something lurking about thats preventing it from allowing your iphone to sync, or an easier option try it on another system with the same OS to see if it works perfectly on that..?
Its likely windows 7/itunes not liking each other much which is known, i have a sync issue with itunes on my rig even after a fresh format/install of windows and itunes a month back...its never worked ok with me.....sometimes it syncs...sometimes it locks up and freezes itunes up...itunes have meant to have released patches to solve it but the problem persists....however if i plug the phone into my laptop with win xp there is no issue. I think the syncing program is bonjour in your programs list, if you un-install apple make sure you un-install bonjour as well and then download itunes again making sure you get the win 7 64 bit edition of apple itunes....see if that works...but i have done that numerous times but the problem still persists with mine...so i just use the laptop as the issue is with itunes itself and its crappy developers still not sorting out the issue with win 7 compatibility not the pc..
i have no issues with the 2 iphones we have here iphone4 and iphone3g, on win 7, works every time, so i would say more likely a driver issue of some sort (USB/chipset)
