Other What currently makes your life awesome?

No longer feeling the side effects of my medication (i.e pins and needles and things tasting strange). Seems a bit stupid considering all it does is clear up a tiny vision defect, like I don't have 5 more of those.

 

I can't think if there's been a better time to be a gamer, there's so many new releases that have just appeared and are coming in the next few months.

Mmmm games.

 

GOT A JOIN DATE FOR THE NAVY! Only slight issue is that I only got told just now and I'm going on the 9th October...

Exercise is really making a difference. Feel better, got into the habit of getting up to go swimming in the morning. Really enjoying the extra energy and self confidence.

 

I might finally get my school to consider basketball more seriously.

Same with me man. Two months later and I'm (although not as fit looking) I feel much better.

Uhm, no idea I just found the idea that somebody either decided they no longer wanted ham and replaced it with a game or put it there in the hope that somebody else found it funny quite amusing. I'm assuming that's just badly stacked products and there's supposed to be a console or something there above £205, either that or Activision have a new game?

Anyway, on to what's making my life awesome - or should I leave it at what might make it awesome?

There is this Rockumentary film, you might have heard me mention it a few times before. It's called Back And Forth. It's about this awesome band, right? They're called the Foo Fighters. So anyway, in this band there's a laid back, long haired dude who's a guitarist and singer - he's called Dave, and Dave once had an opportunity to go and play for this other awesome band called Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. He decided to do his own thing and start his own band instead of taking this probably life changing opportunity. He talks about this opportunity and how he turned it down in Back And Forth;

That could not be more fitting for me today, even if I wanted it to be. I literally said those exact words earlier after making a big decision. "okay, let's see what happens". There was no Tom Petty, no loud rock music and certainly no million dollar record deals involved in my decision, but it was still a big one! I'm going to keep you in suspense until I know a little more about it myself though

 

Paid full price for a VERY recently produced Phenom II 555BE (probably the last new one in NZ)
Popped it in, turned on ACC
Quad core, no need for a volts boost
O/C'd it from 3.2 to 3.6 on stock volts...thinking that can't be right, most 555bbe's need more volts just to unlock!
Bumped it to 1.45 volts.. sitting stable at 4ghz under my deepcool cooler


tl;dr:
Paid for 2 cores at 3.2, received 4 cores at 4ghz. Works nicely in my new AM3+ board

And for the intel folks, the only CPU intel has in stock in the same price range (NZ$120-130) is a Pentium Dual core, no HT, 2.8ghz).
