I was just sitting around bored as hell and an idea poped into my head as was surfing the web, not sure if it has been done yet but, I figured I would share it with everyone.

You know the CC lights below are normaly used on 80mm fans but, what I thought would be cool is if someone took them and used them on the bottom of their case to give off a ground effect glow or on the inside of their case to illuminate it.

I just figured it would be a nice break from all of the strait CC lights that are usually used in everyones cases.

Nice idea, we are just getting these cc fans over here now.
I have seen ground effect done with EL string before, but with these you could have a multicoloured effect, like a 3 way cc.
    Starts thinking......

What difference would that be from just using a straight cathode?

Looks like it'd be a bit smaller. I think it would give off more light in a concentrated area instead of spreading out into nothingness so soon.

Why not just get straight cathodes and bend them around the bottom of your case?

i dont think bending a cathode is possible and if it is you would require massive amounts of heat and i am sure 95% of the people would have the stuf to do it

ive bent ccs b4, not hard at all. A candle works, but a mini torch is best. The trick is to heat it and let gravity bend it, as gravity is not strong enough to break it.

It is if you let go of the cathode from a height :D

Because a bent cold cathode is non-standard, and moddin stuff is cool

So I take it that it was a good idea starting this thread as I can see it has raised a lot of conversation, after all it was just a spur of the moment idea I had when I was bored. Sorry eddie_dane for being a leach.
