Hi all! I need to know how to build an inverter to take 12VDC to 90VAC 400hz, to power a LCD's EL backlight. Your help is much appreciated! Thanks! God Bless & Kind Regards, Richard
They can be rediculously expensive or cheap - only really cheap source I have found is in Hong Kong - please post any UK/US ones ya find?
http://www.elfa.se/elfa/produkter/se/20/2011645.htm This is a Norwegian site.. i don't know.. but i think they ship to UK aswell.. the price is about 100 NOK = 14$ mabye? i don't know.. but i guess some UK shops should carry those.. what about maplin?
Maplins would be expensive if they stocked them - you can get inverters with 15cm * 20cm of el sheet for aprrox £8 ($13)..
Similar question.. I bought some EL wire, but the inverter was broke. It only flashed once while turning it on. Unfortunately the inverter was covered with thick glue or something like that, and i couldn't get it out unharmed. Is it possible to wire up a new inverter? The only specs i could find are these: Input voltage: 9-14 (VDC) Input currency range: 45-70 (mA) Output frequency: 2.72-3.82 (KHz) Output voltage range: 82-150 (Vrms) http://www.sunbeamtech.com/products/products-el cables.htm - color is blue (ultra marine) Ordering a new one would be quite expansive as they are not for sale here...
How many mA??? HI all, How many mA's must the inverter be for a EL backlight of a 20x2 LCD?? Thanks. God Bless & Kind Regards, Richard
Wicked, can't you just phone the supplier and tell them that the inverter was broken? They will get you a new one for free.
