I think my trusty Zalman ZM-MFC1 is slowly dying Ive lost the 5V function on one channel and a couple of the variable ones are becoming a bit iffy. Can anyone recommend a good six channel fan controller at all?
I cant recommend one but i woud also like to know as im looking at one. Been looking at the Akasa FC 6 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/akasa-fcsix-brushed-ali-panel-for-control-6-fans-3pin-4pin-compatible
I got this one http://www.scan.co.uk/products/nesteq-maxzero-fan-controller Works well and it is a nice LCD screen one, very easy to set fan speed and more.
I loved the Zalman ZM-MFC1, right up until it melted under a few Delta's. I went for a Lamptron FC2 then and wish I hadn't bothered. It's a great controller for stacking a few fans on each channel if that's your thing. But low level voltage is shoddy at best, my 6 Apache's fail to spin up at anything under full tilt. I would buy another ZM-MFC1 any day.
I was always under the impression it was just the Akasa Apache fan itself that didn't work well with low voltage?
I have the FC2 and it starts up my Scythe Gt's (AP-15) at around 40% so around 750rpm and thats with 4 fans on each channel.
Im getting the problem with the zalman no kick starting all my large fans at low voltage, all my Lian Li 14cm fans need a nudge or whacking up full for them to spin or they just sit clicking at me. One thing i did forget to mention is it needs to be black to match the rest of the case. I was looking at the Phobya one or maybe this http://www.quietpc.com/gb-en-gbp/products/casefanaccessories/kaze-master-ace-525-bk
Went for the Phobya one in the end from scan, very nice little unit as well. Doesn't show the red LED's but they are there and don't intrude at all. Very pleased
Lamptron FC2 If you want a decent quality fan controller, Lamptron are the way to go, no doubts about it.
