Works fine for me atm - although the Rockstar GFWL clone and GFWL are a bit convoluted - the Rockstar one was killed off, but still lingers with the install.

This! I found Dark Athena to be a bit swallow for my liking, though still worth to play through once as you can beat the campaign in an anfternoon.

Escape from Butchers Bay on the other hand is really awesome if you like the Riddick character, and much ore challenging on the stealth part imo. I have played through this campaign a few times now. Escape from Butchers Bay is very well worth the $5 alone.

    I didn't think so...

...but a few hours in and it is crashing on me every time I complete a mission. Haven't found anything using google yet as to why it's doing that etc. But ****ing annoying and has put the kaibosh on me playing it.

Anyone know what to do about it?

I think I am going to skip all these deals. They will surely be on around christmas at similar prices right?

As tempting as some are, I need to buy other peoples christmas presents first before wasting all my money on steam again :p

    Although, Limbo at £1.74..........

I had some issues with GTA IV not even starting, but once they were resolved it's been running smoothly, no issues with it as of yet *crosses fingers*.

Agree with previous comments, Limbo is a great little game and a steal at that price.

I just grabbed Thief for 1.99.

I think my GF is getting sick of Steam everytime she turns round I'm checking the specials again lol

So far I've managed to be restrained I've only brought portal 2 and the serious sam pack, hacker evolution duality and thief so not much more than 15.00 quid if that :)

    Prolly get Thief too.

Section 8 looks pretty fun, but I've never heard of it. Thoughts?

Anyone got thoughts on Driver: San Francisco? It appears to have come out barely a couple of months ago so given the 50% saving here, I guess it tanked.

There's only one problem with the Steam sales and that's the fact that their servers are always to busy to actually allow you to download the game once you've brought it.

I bought the GTA pack, thought it would be nice to have the first few on my steam as backups and I still need to play Episodes, I would have paid a fiver for that eventually anyway.

Does Thief still stand the test of time? I never got to play it originally and I know it had a huge following.

    How does that work now?
GFWL account and "Rockstar Social Club" still necessary?, Or does it get installed but isn't necessary? Can/should I deinstall anything afterwards?

Well I got mine in a pack from... Some random site whose name I've forgotten now, but it was almost like a disc-based install instead of Steam.

You had to install with GFWL and RSC (thanks btw, couldn't remember that either) then apply the newer patches which made RSC redundant. Then there was an uninstall/patch out for RSC which I ran, but I still get the splash screen on startup... Anyway, once you launch the game itself there's no junk getting in the way, even GFWL stays at bay.
