Does it have to be pwm? The yate 38mm would be awesome in front of a rad, all that pressure. pwm is backwards compatible with 3pin isn't it?
personal preference, i rig up every fan to the CPU PWM header and have automatic fan throttling. Since PWM is a switching 12V supply, fans tend to start up and run at lower RPMs than traditional 3pin fans do. as far as i'm aware, you can plug a 3pin fan onto a 4pin PWM socket, but you don't get PWM control. but plug a 4pin PWM plug onto a 3pin socket and you have to vary the supply voltage to get any speed control Oh and it'd have to be 25mm thick, i don't think i could get 38mm to fit
Scythe do slipstreams with PWM. But I have no idea if they would have the air pressure required to work with a radiator... http://www.scythe-eu.com/en/products/fans/120mm.html hows abooot these? http://www.nexustek.nl/NXS-120mm-pwm-fan-ultra-quiet.htm
