Have you tried a different HDMI cable? It may be a fault with the cable itself. Once you've ruled that out we can try and determine what the issue is exactly.

Have you gone through the settings on the T.V to try and resolve the issue?

    Xbox/Xbox 360?

If the latter, what's the output resolution set at? - It needs to be a setting your TV displays natively, not just supports. Also, you can change the colour types in the 360 settings if needed.

Bit back to front, but do you have any friends with an xbox you could borrow for 5 minutes just to check that it's not the source of your woes?

He said in the OP it happens with his Sky Box as well, so I don't think it's an issue with the Xbox. Then again it could be :/

Most likely that hdmi port is broken which is a replacement telly job as I'm not sure they are repairable.

You have tested other items like sky and it's still the same and you have ruled out cables so it's nigh on certain to be the tv.

Ah, I don't have an Xbox so wasn't aware that you could stream Sky through Xbox Live?

You could get it fixed/engineers report, but the cost would be close to the price of a new TV if you went through a Samsung dealer.

Give this a go. I've a weird issue with my monitor where using one of the DVI connections causes the displayed image to be way brighter for some reason.
