Hi All , bought my boy a sapphire Radeon HD 6770 to fit in his older PC as the HD 3450 was not cutting it. Its installed into an HP Compaq DX2250 micro tower but on boot I get nothing, it was connected to a 250w supply so I changed that for an 450w that I had but still no joy. Took card out and put in my system and it booted fine.
So is this a pci-e issue, can anyone help me out. Cheers.

I've seen this happen quite a few times now. It seems the newer AMD cards are not compatible with older systems.

Try doing a search on google for the motherboard and that gfx card.

I had a similar problem trying to fit a sapphire 6850 into my system at the start of the year and learned that there was a long history of that card not playing well with my motherboard. I even upgraded my PSU as well before checking. There were fixes mentioned online, so there might be similar fixes for your setup?

However, the fixes they mentioned never worked for me, so I ended up returning the card and got a second hand nvidia 460 instead, that works like a dream ;)
