Certainly wouldn't want to be spending £100 on a 5 year old 2407WFP... I would go new and the suggested U2412M would be a very good choice...
Personally, I think I'd go for the 2412, as well, especially if there's no warranty. It depends what you're after though. £100 for a 2407WFP is pretty decent. We sell them for around £300 refurbished when we have them in. I tried a 2407WFP for my own setup and didn't get along with it. I can't remember if it was that or the 2408WFP, but text had a green tint to the edges. It was a bit weird. What did you go for in the end?
